It is my pleasure to welcome you to Citywire New Model Adviser’s Top 100 for 2026, our annual list celebrating the leading financial planning firms across the UK.

Every year we see applications from high-quality businesses, but this year the bar seemed higher than ever. From adviser qualifications and charity work to significant improvements in tech stacks, it was wonderful to see developments at a truly fantastic set of firms. At a time when the rapid adoption of AI is posing questions about the future of advice, it is brilliant to see so many longstanding firms embracing these tools and continuing to excel.

While our list is not the be-all and end-all—as some firms do not apply and others just missed out—it provides a snapshot of the value these businesses offer their clients. To accurately reflect changing dynamics in the market, we refreshed our methodology for the first time in many years, adjusting our point weightings to select the 100 best firms in the country.
