We’re delighted to have been selected once again for Citywire’s New Model Adviser list of Top 100 financial planning firms 2022, and to see that our continued commitment to delivering a strong personal service resonated with the judges. Below is the introduction from NMA and their summary of why we were selected.

Welcome to our annual Citywire New Model Adviser Top 100, which celebrates the best of the professional financial planning community.

This year’s Citywire New Model Adviser Top 100 is, as ever, full of fantastic firms making their mark on clients and communities.

We asked ourselves a difficult question when putting together the 2022 list: is it really a ‘Top’ 100? In one sense it definitely is. These are the firms that have scored highest on our metrics created alongside AKG. They are all successful at recruiting, keeping clients happy and working with their communities. We want to celebrate this side of financial advice.

Ultimately, the best way to think about this list is that it provides an overview of how 100 different great firms are running an advice business in 2022. We believe the list demonstrates the qualities of a good advice business and will stimulate ideas around ways to collaborate and grow the profession.

Connor Broadley and CEO James Connor believe commitment to client care is more important than ever.

Core to this is a high level of personal service, with advisers encouraged to work closely with clients to meet and deliver advice. To help free up the team’s time for these meetings, the firm is embracing technology.

It has automated some of its processes through Microsoft SQL Server, which significantly speeds up the process of offering advice by automatically producing all monthly client presentations. Connor Broadley has also developed an app that provides clients with access to their accounts throughout the day, and soundproofed certain workspaces in the office to accommodate the increase in video calls post-pandemic.

After a three-year hiatus, the firm relaunched its summer work experience programme for 16- to 18-year-olds. Initially planned to run only in July, the firm hosted a second programme in August due to high demand.
